Retired police officer booked for alleged sexual harassment of minor girl in Borivali lift

Mumbai, Dec 2: A retired police inspector has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly sexually harassing a 9-year-old girl inside the lift of their housing society in Borivali East, Mumbai.

The 67-year-old accused lives in the same society as the victim. The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday when the girl took the lift. The accused allegedly touched her inappropriately and attempted to kiss her. Alarmed, the minor immediately informed her mother, who subsequently lodged a complaint with the Kasturba Marg Police.

The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and are currently investigating the matter.
