Kasargod, Feb 19: In a massive haul, police recovered stocks of explosives from a Maruti Omni parked near Perla petrol station near here on Saturday February 18 night.

The police seized four sacks containing nearly 200 kg of ammonium nitrate, 500 aluminium detonators in five packets and six roles of wicks.

The police inspected Omni based on suspicion, as it was found abandoned near the petrol bunk. It is suspected that the culprits may have fled the scene when they realized that there was strict security check going on at some distance. The car was said to be plying from Puttur to Kasargod.

The police also found a mobile phone and the car's RC in the name of Mohammed of Alankar, Puttur, inside the car.

Of late, security in Kasargod has been beefed up in the wake of sporadic incidents of violence, protests and stone-pelting. Every vehicle is being checked thoroughly. In addition, Section 144 has been clamped for a fortnight and no two-wheelers are allowed on the roads between 8 pm and early morning, sources said.

Puttur and Badiyadka police have jointly taken up the case for further investigation.

Let us not misdirect the situation and make an issue. These explosives are used for blasting the rock which is then used for construction purpose as Anthony mentioned they must have been transported without proper papers which normally happens in villages and in remote areas same like wood, liquor and banned items.Only the proper investigation from the police will reveal the truth.

The explosive objects shown in this news article are widly used to blast rocks to prepare necessory stones of different sizes which are used for road & building construction. Some one must have purchased these explosives without proper saletax bills and must have abandend the vehicle with fear beaing caught at check-post. Some one who knew about this purchase must have preplaned and informed the police to create an issue.

It is shocking that such a large quantity of raw material for explosives was being transported from a rural place like Puttur. Police should have been knowing about the storage/movement of such large consignments through their trusted informers. Without developing a web of informers it is difficult for the police to have wind of such clandestine activities. God knows what were the plans of the accused???

Sometimes it is convenient to blame the ISI and get away. Even though the ISI is a prime suspect, one must not forget the saffron terror groups here. This needs a very thorough investigation.

After few weeks the police will clarify that the vehicle did not belong to this owner. Before investigating they publish the names and make the suspects the accused. India police is great in this kind of workd.

Correctly said Mr. Imran Ummar, according to you and your community this news is having fishy smell. Wait for another day, your beloved UPA & Kerala Governments along with few spoke persons of your party will that it was the handy work of “Saffron” Party!!!!!!!!! And concerned Police team who caught this haul will be suspended instead of rewarding. In Karnataka, Congress and JDS will take out “Morcha” to condemn the catch of this Omni Vehicle since it is coming under minority quota

That is why we need NCTC(National Counter Terrorism Centre) to combat terrorism. Let not the States ruled by non congress party's oppose this move from the centre. Local politicians will always interfere with the state police investigations. Lets not politicise terror.

This news smells something fishy and looks a huge conspiracy against minorities!First police statement is they seized 50 kgs of explosives! after some pseudos order they changed the statement by 200 kg!! If someone doing some illegal activity and for the fear of his life he abandoned the car with full of explosives, how can he leave the mobile phone and car document in that car!!! Investigation should be done to reach the bottom of the matter. Is this the job of same outfit that hoisted Pakistan flag in Sindhagi town?

Kasargod has become launching pad for Terrorists. Unfortunately, both Communist Party and Congress Party failed to restrict terrorism motivated incidents.Pakistan ISI is having good control over Kasargod than Govt.of Kerala. It looks very funny but it is very true.
