Mexican Football Coach Punches Photographer

Mexico City, Feb 20 (IANS/EFE): A criminal complaint has been filed against the coach of a football club in Mexico for allegedly punching a photographer who had clicked his pictures.

Tomas Boy, coach of the Morelia Monarcas club, punched Victor Rojas, a photographer for the Sintesis newspaper, in the face, witnesses said.

Rojas clicked Boy's photos as he arrived at the Los Olivos training complex in Puebla state.

The club's public relations chief Mario Mendoza managed to separate the two. Rojas later filed a criminal complaint with the state attorney general's office.

Boy, who was on the Mexican national team that reached the quarterfinals of the 1986 World Cup, is known for confrontations with fellow coaches and players.
