New York, Dec 20: Newly released files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have made references to so-called “massage techniques” and Ayurveda originating from India, drawing attention amid an already sensitive political debate in the United States.
The US Justice Department on Friday released thousands of documents related to Epstein, following a bill signed by US President Donald Trump last month that mandated the disclosure of the files within 30 days. The release has triggered fresh political controversy, with Democrats intensifying demands for transparency over Epstein’s links with influential figures.

Epstein, a wealthy financier with high-profile connections, had been friends with Trump for several years before the two reportedly fell out. That association has remained a subject of political scrutiny, although Trump has never been accused of any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
Among the exhibits made public, one document mentions the use of massages and Ayurveda for detoxification. The reference notes that “many practitioners in the West are now offering massage and other treatments based upon this 5,000-year-old system of natural healing from India.” The files also include articles such as The Art of Giving Massage, which refer to the use of sesame oil for detoxification.
The document release included only a limited number of photographs of Trump. The Justice Department, however, acknowledged that the disclosure of files remains incomplete. The records also contain several photographs of former US president Bill Clinton and a picture of Epstein with late pop icon Michael Jackson. Clinton, like Trump, has never been accused of wrongdoing related to Epstein.
Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in a Manhattan jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges alleging that he sexually abused and trafficked dozens of underage girls.
