Mumbai, Jan 15: The Shri Uma Maheshwari Temple in Jarimari, Kurla West, established by entrepreneur D B K Sheena, hosted its 39th annual collective Sri Satyanarayana Mahapuja on Thursday evening, attracting hundreds of devotees.
The stone temple, home to Sri Mahaganapati, Lord Sri Subrahmanya, and Sri Uma Maheshwari Amma, witnessed elaborate rituals under the guidance of chief priest Srinivas Udupa. Priests Rajshekhar Bhat and Shankar Kalyanittaya conducted the puja, delighting the assembled devotees.











“The Mahapuja brings the community together and strengthens devotion to the deities,” said chief priest Srinivas N Udupa, who also oversaw the distribution of Tirtha Prasadam by co-priest Rajesh Bhat.
The celebrations included Satyanarayana Pooja and the main Satyanarayana Mahapuja, with temple trustees Lalith B K Sheena, Sarita B Sheena, Nisha B Sheena, Nikhita B Sheena, and S Tarun participating, alongside priests Ashok Poojary B. N Shetty, Ravindra A Shanti, Sanjeev Poojary Tonse, and Srinivas Jokatte. Other dignitaries included Ravi Aithal, Bhavani Shankar Bhat, Giri Bhat, and Parameshwar Bhat, with the Bhajana Mandali leading devotional singing.
Hundreds of devotees received Sirimudi and Gandhaprasadam, taking part in the rituals and seeking the blessings of the deities. The temple’s Bhajana Mandali and community members ensured the event was marked by devotion, discipline, and celebration, making it a spiritually enriching evening for all.
