Mumbai: Shanmukhananda Sabha to felicitate 25 wounded Army soldiers on Republic Day

Mumbai, Jan 23: As part of Republic Day celebrations, Shanmukhananda Sabha, Sion, will felicitate 25 Indian Army soldiers who were wounded in various military operations on January 26, marking the country’s 77th Republic Day.

The felicitation ceremony will be led by Lt Gen D S Kushwah, General Officer Commanding of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. The annual event is jointly organised by Shanmukhananda Sabha and the Indian Army.

“Every Republic Day, we honour wounded jawans and families of martyrs with cash awards and mementos to recognise their supreme sacrifices. This tradition helps strengthen the bond between civil society and the armed forces,” said Sabha president V Shankar.

The event aims to acknowledge the courage and dedication of soldiers who have sustained injuries while serving the nation and to express the gratitude of citizens for their selfless service.
