Kasargod, Feb 27: Through an order, the special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court, has ordered impounding of assets belonging to Abubakker from Hosdurg Akkaremel in the district, relating to the fake note case he is facing. Abubakker has been named as the fourth accused in the case relating to printing of Indian currency notes in Pakistan, routing the same to India through Gulf countries, and circulating them here.
The court gave this direction to Kasargod district collector. Abubakker reportedly has fled to the Gulf and is in hiding at Abu Dhabi, NIA has found. NIA officials have already furnished details of assets owned by Abubakker to the revenue department for necessary action.
In the meanwhile, NIA is learnt to be moving in the direction of seeking assistance from Interpol to arrest the accused.
