Mumbai, Jan 30: Apple Inc has confirmed plans to open a second retail store in Mumbai, further expanding its physical footprint in India, company executives said during the tech giant’s earnings conference call.
Chief executive officer Tim Cook said Apple will add another store in Mumbai after opening its fifth retail outlet in India during the December quarter. However, he did not share a timeline or disclose the exact location of the proposed store.

The announcement comes as Apple reported record December-quarter revenue in India, with the company noting strong demand across products and services. Executives attributed the growth to a rise in first-time buyers and an expanding installed customer base.
While Apple did not specify the location of the upcoming Mumbai store, earlier reports had suggested that the company was considering a site at the Oberoi Sky City Mall in Borivali, a suburb of the city. Apple executives did not comment on these reports and reiterated only that another Mumbai store is planned as part of its broader retail expansion in India.
Apple said it posted its highest-ever December-quarter revenue in India, driven by robust demand for iPhone, Mac and iPad devices. The company identified India as one of its strongest-performing markets during the quarter, alongside China and the United States, as it reported record global revenue.
Tim Cook said Apple achieved quarterly revenue records in India across iPhone, Mac and iPad, in addition to an all-time high in services revenue. “We did set a quarterly revenue record during December,” Cook said, adding that the company also recorded “quarterly revenue records on iPhone and Mac and iPad, and an all-time revenue record on services” in India.
