Gonda, Feb 7: A private school teacher in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district has been booked for allegedly subjecting a Class 2 student to severe physical punishment for not completing his homework, leaving visible injury marks on the child’s legs.

The incident occurred in the Karnailganj area, where the 10-year-old boy was reportedly assaulted by his English teacher, identified as Prakhar Singh, at MRG School. According to the complaint lodged by the child’s father, the teacher repeatedly beat the boy with a stick after he failed to finish his homework.

The father alleged that his son was hit more than 100 times, causing severe pain, swelling and injuries to his legs. When the child returned home limping, family members were shocked to see the marks on his body. The boy was also allegedly warned not to reveal the assault and was offered biscuits to keep quiet, with threats of further beating if he complained.

Disturbed by his son’s condition, the father first approached the school management and later lodged a police complaint.

Following the complaint, the principal of MRG School stated that the accused teacher had been dismissed with immediate effect. “As soon as the matter came to our notice, the English teacher was removed from service,” he said.

Circle Officer of Karnailganj, Abhishek Dabacha, confirmed that a case has been registered against the teacher under Sections 115(2), 351(3) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He said special legal action is being taken, adding that the incident occurred within the limits of Karnailganj police station.

Police have initiated legal proceedings against the accused teacher, and further investigation is underway.
