Mangalore: Lorry Rolls into Pond at Adyar - Two Dead

Mangalore, Feb 29: Two persons died when a lorry laden with timber rolled over and fell into a pond at Adyarkatte near here in the wee hours of Wednesday February 29.

The accident took place at around 4 am beside the national highway 75. The lorry was plying from B C Road to Mangalore.

The deceased have been identified as Rajashekar and Sudhakar who were in the lorrry.

When the accident occured, the timber on the lorry rolled off and fell on the two persons, killing them almost instantly.

The driver is said to have been drowsy and lost control over the lorry, resulting in the accident. However, he managed to get off the lorry at the nick of time and saved himself.

By 7 am the bodies were retrieved, and a crane was used to lift the lorry from the pond.

The bodies have been shifted to Wenlock. A case has been registered in Kankanady rural police station.

All three persons, the driver, Sudhakar and Rajashekar are said to be of the same family.

    It is a sad news and I pray that the souls of Rajashekar and Sudhakar rest in eternal peace and also give comfort to the bereaved families and friends. Spoorthi Ullal your pictures were good but hard to believe.
