Tarn Taran, Feb 9: A shocking incident unfolded at a law college in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district on Monday, where a student allegedly shot dead his woman classmate inside a classroom before turning the gun on himself. The entire episode was captured on the classroom’s CCTV camera.

The incident occurred at Mai Bhago Law College in Usma village. Police identified the accused as Prince Raj, a resident of Mallian village, while the victim was identified as Sandeep Kaur from Naushehra Pannuan. Both were declared dead.

According to CCTV visuals, Prince Raj entered the classroom carrying a bag and briefly spoke with Sandeep Kaur and another woman student. The trio then moved to seats at the back of the classroom and continued their conversation. Moments later, Prince Raj suddenly stood up, opened his bag, took out a firearm and shot Sandeep Kaur at point-blank range. As she collapsed, he immediately turned the gun on himself and fired.

The footage shows students panicking and fleeing the classroom following the gunshots. Senior police officials said the incident took place just as classes were about to begin.

The bodies of both students have been sent for post-mortem. The motive behind the murder-suicide is not yet known, and police said CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined as part of the investigation.

Sandeep Kaur’s mother questioned how the accused was able to enter the college premises with a firearm and demanded strict action in the matter. Further details are awaited.
