Bangalore, Feb 29: The Karnataka Legislature panel headed by ruling BJP member Shrreshailappa Bidarur to inquire into the episode of the three ruling partymen, who were forced to quit as Cabinet ministers, after being caught red-handed while watching blue film clips or porn clips on their mobile handsets inside the State Assembly on February 7 has decided to summon the trio for personal hearing.
The three former ministers – Laxman Savadi, Krishna Palemar and C C Patil – have been asked to appear before the blue film episode probe committee on Thursday.
The panel headed by Shreeshailappa Bidarur of the ruling BJP held its second meeting on Wednesday and discussed the issue in detail.
The Opposition Congress members H C Mahadevappa and Amaregouda Bayyapur Patil and JD(S) member Dinakar Shetty, who had boycotted the first meeting, continued their boycott on Wednesday too.
The panel chairman Shreesailalppa Bidarur, who spoke to reporters after the meeting, said they would go through the replies given by three former ministers – Krishna Palemar, Laxman Savadi and C C Patil - for the show-cause notices issued by Speaker K G Bopaiah on Thursday.
The Three former ministers would be summoned on Thursday to hear their view points on watching porn film on the cell-phone during the session.
The trio had resigned as ministers a day after the incident on February 7.
The panel would submit the report to the Speaker before March 13, Bidarur said.
''However, if required, we will seek extension of the period by another week,” he said.
Nehru Olekar, B Suresh Gowda and S R Vishwanath, all belonging to ruling BJP, participated in meeting.
Asked about the Opposition members boycotting the meeting, Bidarur said there was no need for politicisation of the panel since it was constituted by the Speaker.
