Kundapur: Assault on Gram Panchayat President - Byndoor PSI Transferred

Kundapur, Mar 1: Byndoor police station house officer, Pavitra Teja, has been transferred to Mangalore. He had reported at this police station recently.

It may be recalled that the police sub-inspector was facing charges of assaulting Heroor gram panchayat president, Ashok Kumar Shetty, who also happens to be the vice-president of Karnataka State Photographers Association. Shetty, in his complaint, had said that he had visited the police station for helping a Dalit woman to get her grievances redressed.

Sources said that the sub-inspector has been transferred in relation to the above incident. Sunil Kumar from Subrahmanya has been transferred to Byndoor in place of Pavitra Teja, it is gathered.
