Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation Wins Open State Cricket Tournament

Bhatkal, Mar 2: Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation won the open state level cricket tournament held at Kumta by beating Manki Nawayath association in the finals by five wickets.

Winning the toss, Manki scored 144/8 in 20 overs, with the contribution of Huzaif-38 and Imran-19. Bhatkal team put up a good performance on the field. Chasing a target of 145, Bhatkal team gained victory in 17.4 overs with 5 wickets remaning. Outshining among others were Nufail hallare-43, Afzan-22 and Mohammed Ali-26.

Winners were rewarded with cash prize of Rs 40,000 and a trophy. Runners up were awarded Rs 25,000 along with a trophy.

Nufail Hallare was titled "Man of the finals" for his brilliant performence. 'Best bowler' title was given to Abdul majid (Manki Nawayath association), Best Batsmen title was given to Nufail Hallare (Bhatkal muslim youth federation), 'Man of the series' title was given to Huzaif (Manki Nawayath Association), 'Best fielder' title was given to Abdul Mutal(Bhatkal muslim youth federation) and the 'Best wicket keeper' title was given to Siridar(Hhonnawar).

Totally about 16 teams participated in the tournament.

Last month, the Bhatkal muslim youth federation won the district level cricket tournament held in Honnawar.

With this victory, Bhatkal muslim youth federation president Maulana Ansar Madani general seceratry Abdul Raqeeb congratulated the team.
