Moodbidri: Annual Athletic Meet of Dr M V Shetty Institute of Technology Held

Moodbidri, Mar 3: The annual athletic meet for the academic year 2011-12 of Dr M V Shetty Institute of Technology, Thodar, here was held on Saturday March 3 at 9 am in the campus grounds.

“Presently encouragement given to the sports and games are far better than the olden days, institutions are promoting the athletes by giving them all the facilities / help and also conducting mega events like annual sports meet etc," said olympian  and Arjun awardee Vandana Shanbhagh Pai in her inaugural speech by inaugurating after inaugurating the annual sports meet of the institution.

"All the sports facilities needed in an institution is provided here, so that talented students are very glad here," said founder secretary of Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust, Dr M Ramgopal Shetty said in his presidential address.

Trustee Dr Divyanjali Shetty also present on the occasion as guest of honour, handed over the memento to the chief guest. The principal Dr Sandeep J Nayak welcomes the guest. The annual sports report was read by physical director Rajprasad. Vote of thanks was given by Akshay Kumar, estate officer, Dr M V S I T.  The programme was compered by Shabana Begam, lecturer, Electronics and Communications department.

As many as 1000 students participated in the various events of the sports meet.
