Beltangady: ANF Takes Villager into Custody

Beltangady, Mar 4: The policemen of Anti Naxal Force, during their combing of forest areas to hunt for naxal presence, took into custody a villager from Barengady in Kutloor village in the taluk on the evening of Friday March 2, it is gathered. The person has been identified as Cheenkra (45).

Some personnel of the contingent, who visited the house of Cheenkdra at around 5.30 pm on Friday, took him into custody, it is learnt.

Since the last some days, an ANF contingent had been concentrating on the tribal people settled in Alemba area of Kutloor village. It is said that the contingent had asked villagers of the area not to venture out of their homes after 7 pm.

It is not yet clear as to how they zeroed in on Cheenkra or whether the ANF has information about his links with naxals.
