Kundapur, Mar 5: The Taluk Working Journalists’ Association held a protest rally from Shastri Circle to taluk headquarters on Saturday March 3, to condemn the attack on mediapersons by a group of lawyers at the civil court premises in Bangalore on Friday March 2.

Addressing protesters, Association president Vinay Pais urged the state police to arrest the group of lawyers responsible for the attack on mediapersons as it amounts to curbing the freedom bestowed by virtue of the national constitution.

The State Working Journalists’ Association representative K C Rajesh said that the taluk association strongly opposes the move by the state administration in conducting a judicial investigation over the incident. The state administration has failed to protect the media representatives as such incidents are increasing in recent times across the state, he said. 

Association secretary Nagaraj Rayappanamate proposed the vote of thanks.
