Bruno Mars denies criticism of Taylor Swift after social media ‘Like’ sparks buzz

Los Angeles, Mar 16: Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars has clarified that he holds no negative views about pop star Taylor Swift after social media users claimed he had liked a post criticising her online.

The speculation began after screenshots circulated on X showing Mars allegedly liking a post that questioned Swift’s popularity and referenced “white privilege.” The post also featured a video of Swift performing on stage.

The message was widely shared online and was mistakenly attributed to the official account of BTS, although it did not actually appear on the group’s page.

As the screenshots gained traction, Mars responded publicly to clear the air. Writing on X, he said Swift has always treated him with kindness and support.

“Taylor has always been supportive and kind to me. Only love over here,” he posted, before adding another message encouraging positivity on social media: “Spread love on these apps.”

Reports later indicated that Mars removed the “like” that had initially triggered the speculation.

The online chatter also comes shortly after Mars replaced Swift at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. His single I Just Might climbed to No. 1 in January, ending Swift’s 15-week run at the top with The Fate of Ophelia from her album The Life of a Showgirl.

Swift, known for hits such as Bad Blood, has not commented on the incident, and there has been no indication of any dispute between the two artists
