Karkala, Mar 7: The Lokayukta police from Udupi, acting on a complaint, trapped Trivikram Adiga, revenue inspector of Ajekar, on Tuesday March 5. The raid was conducted on a complaint made by Chandrashekhar Nayak.

Reportedly, Nayak had filed an application for changing the Khata of his land in the taluk office here. He then made enquiries at the office of the village accountant in Hermunde about the fate of his application. In that office, a notice was delivered to him, duly getting his signature. The file was then referred to the Nada Kacheri in Marne revenue division. When Nayak approached the revenue inspector of the region, Trivikram Adiga, the official is said to have placed a demand for payment of Rs 2,000 by way of bribe.

Even after Nayak, along with his brother, approached Adiga and tried to convince him to do his work, the latter refused to do the needful unless the bribe in question was paid. Nayak then filed a complaint in Lokayukta police station, and the officials nabbed the revenue inspector, when he was receiving the bribe. He was produced in sessions court at Udupi.

Lokayukta police inspectors, B P Dinesh Kumar, and C E Timmaiah, led the raid.
