Mumbai, Mar 7 (IANS): Yesteryears star Joy Mukherjee is still on ventilator and his condition remains critical.
"He is still on ventilator. His condition is the same for the past 48 hours. Lets see for the next 24 hours. He is still unconcious. We all are praying for him," Joy's wife Neelam Mukherjee told IANS Wednesday morning.
The 73-year-old actor was admitted to he Lilavati Hospital Monday. His spokesperson R.R. Pathak said that the veteran star had not been keeping too well for some time.
The actor's good looks earned him instant popularity when he forayed into filmdom with 1960 hit film "Love In Simla". His popularity soared with projects like "Shagird", "Love In Tokyo", "Ziddi", "Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon" and "Ek Musafir Ek Hasina".
Mukherjee comes from a film family -- his father Sashadhar Mukherjee, who was married to legendary actor Ashok Kumar's sister Sati Devi, was the co-founder of Filmalaya Studios. He is the paternal uncle of actors Kajol and Tanisha, Mukherjee.
Joy and Neelam have three children - two sons and a daughter.
