Puttur: Bangalore Bus Tumbles - Four Injured

Puttur, Mar 7: Three passengers, and the driver of a private bus coming from Bangalore, suffered injuries after the bus tumbled at Neerakatte in Bajattoor village near Uppinangady on Tuesday March 6. The bus was bound for Bhatkal from Bangalore. 

The injured have been identified as Damayanti (48) from Bikarnakatte Mangalore, Vijayanand (26), a student of Srinivasa College Mangalore, Uday Shetty (47) from Neelavara in Udupi district, and bus driver, Ismail (26), from Bhatkal. All of them were admitted into a hospital in Mangalore for treatment.

Several other passengers too suffered minor nicks and cuts. They were provided first aid. It is said that the bus lost its balance as it skidded while negotiating a road bend at Neerakatte. A case in this respect was filed in traffic police station here.
