Kolkata, Apr 10: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday unveiled the election manifesto of the Bharatiya Janata Party for West Bengal, promising Rs 3,000 monthly financial assistance for women and implementation of a Uniform Civil Code within six months if the party comes to power.
Releasing the “Sankalp Patra” in Kolkata, Shah said the manifesto reflects commitments aimed at all sections of society and seeks to restore public confidence.

Targeting the ruling government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he described the past 15 years as a “period of darkness” and claimed that people in the state are seeking change.
He said the manifesto lays out a roadmap aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while also addressing concerns of farmers and other sections facing uncertainty.
The BJP also outlined a strict stance on illegal infiltration, with Shah reiterating a “zero tolerance” policy. “Detect, delete and deport will be our approach once we form the government,” he said.
The announcement comes as the party intensifies its campaign in the state, positioning itself as the principal opposition force in the Assembly.
