Beltangady: National Conference on 'Quest for Good Governance' Held

Beltangady, Mar 8: “Good governance is firmly based on moral and ethical ground” said G S Jayadeva after inaugurating the two-day national conference on ‘Quest for Good Governance- The Need for Innovative Approaches’ organized by department of PG Studies and Research in social work, held at SDM BNYS College, Ujire, on Thursday March 8.

G S Jayadeva, secretary, Deena Bandhu Trust, Mysore said, "Good governance is subline and aspiration to build humane society, but today in the verge of so called development, material what man had acquired is headed to gain more importance than him. Building orphanages, software companies and big enterprises is not at all the development. But it is the clear indication of man depending more on materials. Good governance will be achieved only when man becomes more important. Today we are in the state of topsy-tervidem", he added.

Further on the occasion, Dr B Yshovarma, principal SDM College, Ujire in his presidential address, expressed his gratitude for organizing the national conference on the contemporary theme- ‘Quest for Good Governance’. If one third of people of our country are keen to ask about the policy then the politicians will be alert to provide good governance. But today least population is bothered about the participation in the public
agenda. So this conference which invited lot of youths will ensure them to realize the necessity of the participation, he added.

Prof J M Mahaveer, dean, PG Studies delivered introductory speech, K R Ravishankar, HOD, department of PG Studies and Research in social work, welcomed the gathering and B C Chitra delivered the vote of thanks.
