Mangaluru, Apr 19: In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Kankanady Town police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized MDMA worth Rs 46.5 lac in Mangaluru city.

Acting on credible intelligence, police received information on Sunday, April 19, that a consignment of MDMA was being transported on a two-wheeler near Jeppina Mogaru in Mangaluru.

A swift operation was launched, during which officers intercepted a Bajaj Freedom motorcycle bearing registration number KA 70 K 3333 and apprehended the accused, who were allegedly carrying the contraband.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Parvez alias Dawood Parvez, 40, son of Abdul Rahiman, and Nazareth Ali, 37, son of late Hussain, both residents of Permannur in Mangaluru.

Police said 465.8 grams of MDMA, valued at Rs 46.5 lac, was recovered from their possession.
