Woman found dead in Panvel, murder case registered

Navi Mumbai, May 4: Police in Navi Mumbai have launched a murder investigation after the body of a woman was discovered on an isolated stretch near Bambaipada village along the Uran–Panvel road in Panvel on Sunday morning.

According to officials from the Panvel City Police, preliminary findings indicate that the woman was strangled using a piece of cloth, pointing to foul play.

Senior Inspector Nitin Thakare stated that the victim has been identified as a resident of Mankhurd. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas in an effort to trace suspects and reconstruct the sequence of events.

Further investigation is underway.
