Man jailed for harassing elderly parents in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 22: A local court in Hyderabad on Friday sentenced a 44-year-old man to 60 days’ imprisonment for allegedly harassing and ill-treating his elderly parents.

According to police, the accused, identified as G Srinivas, had been continuously harassing his aged parents for a long period.

Based on a complaint lodged by the parents on May 21, police attached to the Narayanguda Police Station registered a case against him under relevant provisions of the City Police Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Police said the investigation was conducted by Sub-Inspector J Srikanth Reddy, who collected evidence and produced the accused before the V Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally.

After examining the evidence and case details, the court found Srinivas guilty and sentenced him to 60 days in jail along with a fine of Rs 50, police said.
