Beed, May 28: In a disturbing incident, a minor girl was allegedly raped by her cousin, who tied her hands and stuffed a handkerchief into her mouth to silence her.
The victim’s family rushed to the local police station to lodge a complaint, but were forced to wait an entire night before an FIR was finally registered at 5?am.
The survivor was then taken to the sub-district hospital for a mandatory medical examination. On arrival at 11?am, the family was informed that the female gynaecologist was unavailable.

Despite several attempts, the doctor remained absent until 9?pm, leaving the grieving family to endure another agonising 10-hour wait.
The series of delays by the police and the health department have triggered strong protest from locals and the victim’s relatives, who condemn the apparent insensitivity and bureaucratic hurdles faced in the wake of the crime.
