Kadaba: Illegal cow slaughter busted, three arrested

Kadaba, May 31: The Bellare police have arrested three individuals on charges of illegally slaughtering cattle in a plantation at Manturu Mundatadka in Savanoor village. The raid and subsequent arrests took place on the evening of May 29.

Acting on a reliable tip-off regarding the illegal activity, Bellare police sub-inspector Santosh B P, along with his personnel, rushed to the spot and conducted the raid. Upon inspection of the plantation, the team caught the accused red-handed while they were actively slaughtering a cow and preparing the meat.

The arrested individuals have been identified as K Abdul Rafeeq (37), Adrama Manturu (41), and Abdul Khader Panemajalu (57).

During the preliminary interrogation, it was confirmed that the trio was engaged in the illegal slaughter and meat preparation without any valid permit or license. The raiding team confiscated the cattle meat and other related equipment found at the crime scene.

The accused, along with the seized items, were taken into custody. A case has been formally registered at the Bellare police station (Crime No 36/2026) under sections 4, 7, and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2023. The police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
