Vijay, Trisha visit Ajith Kumar's home after mother's demise

Chennai, May 31: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay and actor Trisha Krishnan visited the residence of actor Ajith Kumar in Chennai late on Saturday night to offer condolences following the death of his mother, Mohini Mani.

Videos shared on social media showed Vijay arriving at Ajith's residence amid tight security. In the visuals, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief was seen embracing Ajith before entering the house and spending time with the bereaved family.

Trisha was also seen visiting the residence dressed in a black salwar suit. She paid her respects to the family and offered condolences, with visuals showing her greeting and embracing Ajith during the visit.

Mohini Mani passed away in Chennai on Saturday morning at the age of 85. Her death comes nearly three years after the passing of her husband, P. Subramaniam. Family members said she died peacefully in her sleep following a period of declining health.

Ajith, who was in Dubai when he received the news, returned to Chennai on Saturday night to be with his family.

In a statement, the family said, “It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Mrs. Mohini Mani, who left us peacefully today at the age of 85. She was the heart of our family, a source of unconditional love, quiet strength, wisdom and grace.”

The statement added that her values and guidance would continue to inspire the family and requested privacy during the mourning period.

Signed by her sons, Anup Kumar, Ajith Kumar and Anil Kumar, the statement said her last rites would be conducted as a private family affair and appealed for respect for the family's wish to grieve in private.

The funeral is scheduled to take place on Sunday.

Several members of the film fraternity, including Kamal Haasan and Radhika Sarathkumar, also extended their support and condolences to Ajith Kumar and his family following the loss.
