Mumbai, May 31: A four-year-old boy was allegedly killed by his father in Mumbai's Powai area on Friday morning, police said.
The accused, identified as Rajesh Prakash Singh (27), has been arrested by the Powai Police and booked for murder.

According to police, Singh was residing in Morarji Nagar along with his elderly mother and two children. His wife had reportedly left the house around 15 days ago due to his alleged alcohol addiction and unemployment.

The deceased child, Yash, was a special child who largely depended on milk for nourishment.

Police said the incident occurred when the child began crying for milk on Friday morning. Allegedly angered by the crying, Singh assaulted the boy. Investigators said he allegedly slammed the child against a door and then struck his head on the floor.

The child sustained severe injuries and died as a result of the assault, police said.

Following the incident, Powai Police took the accused into custody and registered a case of murder. Further investigation is underway.
