Salman Khan sends legal notice over 'Kala Hiran' film

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Jun 2: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has sent a legal notice to the makers of the upcoming film Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy, seeking a halt to its release over claims that it is based on his long-running blackbuck poaching case.

According to reports, Khan's legal team has also demanded the immediate removal of the film's posters and promotional material. The notice further warns of legal action if the demands are not complied with.

The film is being produced by Amit Jani, who has previously been associated with projects inspired by controversial subjects. The project is directed by Bharat S Shrinate.

Amid the legal dispute, Jani Firefox Media Private Limited recently unveiled the film's first-look poster. The makers claim the film is inspired by real-life legal battles and action-driven events and has been mounted on an international scale.

The poster features a central character in an intense and mysterious avatar against a red-and-blue backdrop, suggesting a suspense-filled action drama.

The producers have announced that the film's teaser will be released on Jun 20.

Responding to the legal notice, Amit Jani alleged that the move was intended to intimidate those associated with the project. He claimed that the notice was aimed at pressuring people into backing down because of Salman Khan's celebrity status.

Neither Salman Khan nor his legal team has publicly responded to Jani's remarks.

While the makers have not officially clarified the extent to which the film is based on the case, Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy is widely believed to reference the blackbuck hunting case that has been associated with Salman Khan for several years.

The legal challenge has cast uncertainty over the film's future and whether it will be released as scheduled.
