Beijing, Jun 7: The Chinese entertainment industry is mourning the sudden death of actor and model Jin Ze, who passed away at the age of 33.

His talent agency, Shengshi Guangnian Culture Co., Ltd., confirmed the news on June 6, stating that the actor, whose birth name was Zhang Jiawei, died at his residence in Hangzhou on June 4. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

In an official statement, the agency expressed profound sorrow over his passing and paid tribute to him as an outstanding young actor and model. It also appealed to the public and media to respect the privacy of his family and refrain from spreading unverified information while funeral arrangements are being made.

News of Jin Ze's death quickly spread across Chinese social media platforms, with fans, colleagues and fellow actors expressing shock and grief. Tributes poured in, remembering him as a hardworking performer and a humble individual who was well-liked within the industry.

Just a month before his death, Jin Ze shared what would become his final post on Weibo, celebrating the completion of filming for a new project in which he played the lead role.

The tragedy comes at a time when his acting career was gaining significant momentum. One of his upcoming dramas, Waiting for the Flowers to Bloom, Waiting for Your Return, had reportedly attracted more than 1.48 million reservations ahead of its release.

Born on January 30, 1993, in Weihai, Shandong Province, Jin Ze graduated from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and began his career as a fashion model before transitioning into acting.

He became known for his performances in popular romantic dramas, including Hello Joann, Forget You Remember Love, Begin Again, Legally Romance, Beauty Reborn and Don't Negotiate with Your Boss.

In recent years, he had also found success in China's rapidly expanding short-form drama sector, with several digital projects awaiting release at the time of his death.

His untimely passing has left fans and the entertainment industry grieving the loss of a rising talent whose career appeared poised for even greater success.
