Mumbai, Jun 12: Local train services on the Central Railway's Harbour Line were disrupted during peak morning hours on Friday after foreign wires fell on the overhead electric (OHE) equipment near Chembur station, railway officials said.

According to Central Railway, train movement on the affected section was impacted from around 9.10 am, with the disruption officially reported at 9.45 am.

Railway personnel were immediately deployed to the site and restoration work was taken up on a war footing.

A Central Railway spokesperson said the incident occurred after foreign wires came into contact with the OHE system near Chembur station, affecting train operations on the up Harbour Line.
The obstruction was cleared and normal traffic resumed at around 9.52 am, officials said.

The disruption resulted in delays of approximately 15 to 20 minutes for suburban services operating on the Harbour Line, causing inconvenience to commuters during the morning rush hour.

The Harbour Line serves as a key suburban rail corridor, connecting South Mumbai with Navi Mumbai and parts of the western suburbs.
