Samantha’s ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ opens strong, earns Rs 10.70 crore worldwide on Day 1

Hyderabad, Jun 20: Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest action drama Maa Inti Bangaaram has started its theatrical run on a positive note, recording a strong opening at the box office.

According to Sacnilk estimates, the film collected Rs 5.35 crore net in India on its first day across 2,658 shows. Including taxes, the film’s India gross collection stood at around Rs 6.20 crore.

The movie earned approximately Rs 4.50 crore from overseas markets on the opening day, taking its worldwide gross collection to Rs 10.70 crore.

The Telugu version contributed the majority of the earnings, collecting Rs 5.15 crore net in India with an overall occupancy of around 37 per cent across 2,040 shows. The Tamil version added Rs 20 lakh with 15 per cent occupancy from 618 shows.

The film witnessed improved audience response through the day. The Telugu 2D version recorded 39.12 per cent overall occupancy, with night shows reaching 51.38 per cent.

The premium Telugu EPIQ format received an exceptional response, recording nearly 96 per cent occupancy. Hyderabad’s EPIQ screenings also witnessed strong turnout, with night shows reaching full occupancy.

Region-wise, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana led the collections with around Rs 4.75 crore gross, followed by Karnataka with Rs 90 lakh and Tamil Nadu with Rs 38 lakh.

The film has also received appreciation for Samantha’s performance. Reviews highlighted her portrayal of Swarna, praising the actor’s ability to balance emotional scenes with action sequences.

The supporting performances of Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami and Sreemukhi were also noted for adding depth to the film’s emotional storyline.
