Bhaderwah, Jun 21: The Blind Cricket Association Jammu & Kashmir, in collaboration with the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports J&K, organised the Bilateral Blind Cricket Series 2026 at Government Degree College Bhaderwah from June 20 to June 21.
The two-day sporting event brought together visually impaired cricketers from Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana, providing a platform for players to showcase their skills, determination and passion for the game.
The bilateral series aimed to promote inclusive sports, encourage participation of differently-abled athletes and strengthen sporting ties between the two teams.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from players, officials and sports lovers, reflecting the growing popularity and recognition of blind cricket in the region.
Organisers said the event highlights the ability of sports to break barriers and create equal opportunities for athletes. They expressed confidence that such initiatives would motivate more visually impaired youth to take up sports and pursue excellence at competitive levels.
They added that programmes like these play an important role in building confidence, empowerment and social inclusion among differently-abled athletes.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of official umpires and scorers from Youth Services & Sports, Doda, ensuring fair play, transparency and smooth proceedings.
The series featured competitive encounters showcasing teamwork, sportsmanship and the remarkable resilience of blind cricketers. The event celebrated sporting excellence while reinforcing the message that determination and talent can overcome challenges.
