Mumbai, Jun 22: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has sought increased compensation and educational support for the family of a carpenter who died after suffering an electric shock on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War.

Chandradhari Singh Yadav, a carpenter working on the film set, reportedly died in the early hours of June 17 following an electric shock during the shooting. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Confirming the incident, FWICE President BN Tiwari said filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali had already provided Rs 40 lakh as compensation to the family. However, the federation has requested that the amount be increased to Rs 50 lakh.

FWICE has also appealed to Bhansali to take responsibility for the educational expenses of Yadav’s two children.

Meanwhile, Love & War marks Bhansali’s first collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal together.

The film is reportedly based on a complex love triangle involving two officers, played by Ranbir and Vicky, while Alia’s character faces an emotional conflict between duty and personal desires.

The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on January 21, 2027. It will also mark Ranbir Kapoor’s second collaboration with Bhansali after his debut film Saawariya.
