Shiv Sena (UBT) setback as MLC Sachin Ahir joins Shinde faction

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Jun 30: In another setback for Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), party MLC Sachin Ahir on Monday joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction.

Soon after switching sides, Ahir filed his nomination as the Shiv Sena candidate for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

The development has once again highlighted Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s political strategy, popularly referred to as “Operation Tiger”, under which his faction has continued to attract leaders from rival political groups, especially the Shiv Sena (UBT).

Ahir’s move comes amid ongoing efforts by the Shinde faction to strengthen its position within the party structure and expand its influence ahead of future political challenges in Maharashtra.
