New York, Jul 5: Indian Naval Ship INS Sudarshini sailed into New York Harbour as part of the Parade of Sail, representing India at the Sail 250 celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States and the US International Naval Review.
In a post on X, the Indian Navy said the sail training vessel entered the harbour proudly flying the Indian Tricolour, highlighting India's participation in the prestigious maritime event.

The Navy noted that INS Sudarshini had successfully completed engagements at Norfolk and Baltimore before arriving in New York, describing the visit as a reflection of the growing naval partnership, maritime goodwill and friendship between India and the United States.
The three-masted barque departed for New York earlier this week to take part in the SAIL4th 250 New York and SAIL Boston events as part of its ongoing Lokayan 26 transoceanic expedition.
In another statement, the Indian Navy said the voyage reflects India's rich maritime heritage and reinforces its commitment to strengthening international cooperation, goodwill and mutual trust through maritime diplomacy.
Earlier, the vessel called at Baltimore, where its visit underscored the enduring ties between the Indian Navy and the US Navy, according to the Ministry of Defence.
As part of the Lokayan 26 expedition, INS Sudarshini reached Baltimore on June 26 after sailing from Norfolk, Virginia, navigating through the historic Chesapeake and Delaware (C&D) Canal and passing beneath several major bridges along the US East Coast.
Before arriving in Baltimore, the ship participated in the Sail250 Virginia celebrations in Norfolk from June 19 to 23, joining tall ships from around the world and representing India in the Parade of Sail and the City Crew Parade.
The participation of INS Sudarshini in the Sail 250 events is aimed at promoting India's maritime traditions while strengthening naval cooperation and people-to-people ties with the United States and other participating nations.
