Mumbai, Jul 6: Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has crossed the Rs 50-crore mark at the worldwide box office after a strong opening weekend, despite receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences.

The Yash Raj Films spy thriller earned an estimated Rs 13.25 crore net in India on its third day, taking its domestic net collection to around Rs 34 crore. Its India gross collection stood at approximately Rs 40.8 crore, while overseas markets contributed about Rs 18 crore, pushing the worldwide gross to nearly Rs 58.8 crore in three days.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film recorded steady growth over its opening weekend after collecting Rs 9.5 crore on the first day and Rs 11.25 crore on the second. Sunday's collections witnessed another jump, helping the film comfortably cross the Rs 50-crore milestone globally.

Alpha also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles and marks the first female-led standalone film in the YRF Spy Universe.

Although the film has generated healthy box office numbers, it has received mixed responses, with audiences praising its action sequences and performances while criticism has largely centred on its screenplay and storytelling.
