Udupi, July 8: Following the publication of a Daijiworld report highlighting the dangerous condition of the DC Office Road in Manipal, authorities have begun temporary repair work by filling the large potholes with wet mix.

The road had become a major safety concern, with several deep potholes posing a serious risk to motorists, particularly two-wheeler riders. Commuters had complained that the damaged stretch had become an accident-prone zone, especially during the monsoon.

While the temporary repairs have provided some relief, motorists have pointed out that the wet mix is sticking to vehicle tyres and creating a slippery surface. Two-wheeler riders, in particular, have expressed concern that the freshly laid material could increase the risk of skidding if proper caution is not exercised.

Officials have assured the public that the ongoing work is only a temporary measure and that permanent road development will be taken up at the earliest to ensure safe and smooth movement of traffic.
