Washington, Aug 1: The United States and Israel are reportedly planning a fresh bombing campaign targeting Iran's energy infrastructure, with military strikes possible over the weekend, according to a report by CBS News citing sources familiar with the matter.
The report said US President Donald Trump has not yet given final approval for the proposed strikes.
If carried out, the operation would mark one of the most severe attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure since the outbreak of the ongoing US-Israel conflict with Iran, the report said.

According to CBS News, discussions are underway to conclude the military action before global financial markets open on Monday, indicating concerns over the potential economic impact of the strikes.
Neither the White House nor Israeli authorities have officially confirmed the reported plans, and no formal announcement has been made regarding the proposed military operation.
