San Francisco, Aug. 2: At least three people were killed and two others injured in a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday, while the suspected gunman was also found dead, according to local authorities.

The shooting began inside the restaurant shortly before 2.30 p.m. local time, prompting a massive police response. Authorities said the circumstances surrounding the incident were still under investigation.

The Twin Falls Police Department issued a public safety alert, urging residents and visitors to stay away from the area to allow law enforcement officers and emergency responders to carry out their operations safely.

Addressing a late-night press conference, Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed there were multiple fatalities but did not specify the exact number. He said several injured people were receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Hicks also confirmed that the suspected shooter was dead, but declined to disclose how the individual died. Authorities are working to establish the suspect's identity and determine the motive behind the attack.

Police closed roads around the restaurant, including a nearby bridge, and advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Officials have not yet confirmed whether more than one shooter was involved or announced any arrests. They said further details would be released as the investigation progresses.

The shooting comes weeks after another deadly gun attack in the United States. In July, two people were killed and five others injured in a shooting at the Seattle Center during the Bite of Seattle food festival.

In that incident, the Seattle Fire Department said two victims died at the scene, while four others, including a two-year-old boy, were taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Another woman with minor injuries was treated at the scene. Police later evacuated the area as emergency crews responded.
