Mangalore, Mar 26: 'Somya Tuje Vengeth', a Konkani audio album of Biblical songs by Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza, Capuchin, was released on the feast of St Joseph at St Joseph’s Church, Jeppu, here on March 19.

Fr Joseph Martis, rector of St Joseph’s seminary released the album. Fr Nelson D’Almeida, parish priest introduced Fr Melwyn who is fondly called as ‘pamedi’ in the world of Konkani literature and liturgical music. Fr J B Crasta, the director of St Joseph’s work shop, good number of priests and parishioners witnessed ‘Lokarpane’ of Konkani CD.

‘Somya Tuje Vengeth’, is a special and unique album containing Biblical songs based on the parables of Jesus. These songs basically for the stage program, to listen, to sing, to act and to perform. All songs will come handy for celebrations and catechism. A hymn for prayer dance with a classical touch, song with 12 names of apostles, tableau on St Francis of Assisi and wolf, parables of sower, ten virgins, wedding banquet and others are indeed melodious, rhythmic suit any joyful occasions.

Stephen Praveen Dutt (Prayog), musician, music arranger, composer, conductor, maestro and a music director in film and church music as well with his harmony and orchestration has made this album more creative, innovative, rich and melodious.
