Vande Bharat completes trial run on Sakleshpura–Mangaluru route

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur

Puttur, Aug 23: The Vande Bharat train has completed its trial run on the Sakleshpura–Subrahmanya Road section, with the train crossing Subrahmanya Road station and travelling via Puttur railway station to Mangaluru on Thursday night.

The train had been conducting trial runs between Sakleshpura and Subrahmanya Road railway stations for several days. The latest run, which took the train beyond Subrahmanya Road and through Puttur towards Mangaluru, marked the completion of the trial operation.

Operating a Vande Bharat through the ghat section poses several challenges. In view of these difficulties, trial runs were conducted before extending the train's movement to the subsequent section of the route.

Railway officials have already examined various technical aspects of the railway track during the trial runs. If any problems are identified, necessary corrective measures will be taken in the coming days.

The Vande Bharat service could be introduced on this route once the Railways determines that the Mangaluru–Sakleshpura railway line is suitable for Vande Bharat operations.

Meanwhile, demands are growing for the train to be given stoppages at stations along the route. Railway officials are expected to clarify the technical feasibility of providing stoppages at the stations in this section.

With the trial run now completed, attention turns to the Railways' assessment of the route and the possibility of commencing regular Vande Bharat operations between Mangaluru and Sakleshpura.
