Kasargod: Class X Student Wounded in Attack at School

Kasargod, Mar 28: A group of alumni with lethal weapons barged into the city’s Government High School and injured a student on Tuesday March 27.

The injured has been identified as 15-year-old Munasir, a class X student of Government High School, here.

The incident occurred at about 1.30 pm on Tuesday after the SSLC exam was over, and when Munasir was going to collect his mobile handset that was kept for safe custody with the principal.

A group of six persons led by alumnus Mahesh Battampare assaulted Munasir with lethal weapons. He was badly injured and first taken to the General Hospital, and later admitted to a hospital in Mangalore. The assault took place in front of the office of the principal. The exact cause for the assault is not yet known.

The town police registered a case against Mahesh who is an accused in other cases also, informed police sources.
