Udupi: 21-year-old scooterist dies after ramming into parked lorry at Nandikoor

Udupi, Sep 4: A 21-year-old youth tragically lost his life after his scooter rammed into the rear of a parked lorry on the state highway near the Karkala-Padubidri bus stand in Nandikoor on the night of September 2.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath Bailappa Muragali (21).

The accident occurred when Manjunath was riding his scooter from Karkala towards Surathkal. He sustained critical injuries in the collision and breathed his last on the way to the hospital.

It is gathered that the lorry was parked on the highway at night without switching on any parking lights or indicators, and with a complete lack of precautionary measures, which led to the fatal mishap.

Manjunath, who originally hailed from Rayadurga, was residing in the Kodikere area of Surathkal. He was employed in a private firm. According to police sources, he had gotten engaged a year ago, and his wedding was scheduled to take place in November.
