Mangaluru, Sep 9: ICYM Permannur, in association with the Education Commission, Permannur, celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 6 with great enthusiasm and gratitude towards the teaching community.
The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, during which special prayers were offered for all teachers, seeking God’s blessings and guidance upon their lives and service.
The stage programme commenced with Freedal serving as the master of ceremonies. The programme was prayerfully inaugurated with a beautiful prayer song by Merel and team. The gathering was then warmly welcomed by Wilson Tellis, president of ICYM Permannur. The event was officially inaugurated by the esteemed chief guests.










The programme was graced by Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, parish priest of St Sebastian Church, Permannur, and ICYM director, Permannur; Fr Jagadish Pinto, director, ICYM Permannur; Arun D’Souza, vice president of St Sebastian Parish Pastoral Council; and Dolphy D’Souza, convener of the 21 Commission, St Sebastian Parish Pastoral Council and Sharal Tellis and Dr Renita Priya from Education commission. Renisha delivered a heartfelt and inspiring speech on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
A motivational speech was delivered by Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, encouraging and appreciating teachers for their dedication, commitment, and valuable contribution towards shaping the lives of young people.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Wilma, member of the Education Commission, Permannur, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, teachers, ICYM members, organizers, and participants who contributed to the success of the celebration.
Following the inaugural programme, various games and a quiz competition were conducted by the ICYM members. The teachers actively participated in the activities with great enthusiasm. The celebration provided an opportunity for everyone to come together, share joy, build teamwork, and strengthen fellowship.
The Teachers’ Day celebration concluded as a memorable and meaningful occasion, filled with gratitude, joy, laughter, and fellowship, honoring the invaluable role of teachers in our society.
