Mumbai, Sep 25: Avengers: Endgame – Encore is set to hit Indian screens, with the re-release recording strong advance bookings ahead of its opening day.

The film has sold around 85,000 tickets across the two leading national chains, PVR INOX and Cinepolis. The tally could approach 90,000 by the morning, with additional shows being added at several centres on the final day of advance bookings.

The re-release had the potential to cross the one lakh admissions mark across national chains, but its relatively limited release size is expected to restrict its opening-day collections.

The film has recorded advance bookings of around Rs 5.5 crore gross, or approximately Rs 4.5 crore net. Based on current trends and advance sales, trade estimates put the opening-day collection in the range of Rs 7-8 crore net.

The film is also showing strong advance sales for the opening weekend. A further increase in shows on Saturday and Sunday could lead to a surge in collections.

Avengers: Endgame, originally released in 2019, was the highest-grossing Hollywood film in India at the time. It was subsequently surpassed by Avatar: The Way of Water and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

The strong response to the re-release is expected to add to interest in Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to release later this year. The advance response also highlights the continued popularity of the Marvel brand among Indian audiences.
