Panaji, Oct 5: AICC media and communication department chairperson and Rajya Sabha MP Pawan Khera on Sunday accused the BJP-led government in Goa of allowing drug trafficking to flourish, alleging that illicit substances had become easily available through home delivery.
Addressing a press conference ahead of the Goy Rakhonn Yatra, Khera said the availability of drugs had reached an alarming level in the state.
"Across the world, look at any state in India, drug cartels cannot function without government protection," Khera said. "Dial a drug, easy availability. You need a drug, call for it."

Khera also questioned the government's casino policy, alleging that permissions were being granted without adequate scrutiny and transparency.
"Casinos are giving money to government, we know how hawala is used. The money from the casinos is going to the party fund and that is used in other states," he alleged.
He said 15 years of BJP rule had come at a heavy cost to Goa, alleging that the government had not only failed to protect job opportunities but was now "stealing votes" from the people.
"Who will vote and whose voter will vote is also decided by people in Delhi," Khera said.
Khera said the Congress was considering replicating the Goy Rakhonn Yatra model in other states.
"The people of Goa want an alliance. We had discussions about a grand alliance and we will listen to people's desires. AICC will accept whatever recommendations come from the state party unit and from the state in charge," he said.
