Puttur, Oct 12: A 21-year-old youth who was seriously injured in a road accident at Eshwaramangala in Nettanige Mudnoor village of Puttur taluk died at a private hospital in Mangaluru on Saturday after failing to respond to treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Sudesh, son of Podiya and a resident of Beriya in Kodiyala village of Sullia taluk.
The accident occurred on October 1 when Sudesh was riding his motorcycle from Eshwaramangala town towards Menala. His bike collided with a pickup vehicle travelling from Menala towards Eshwaramangala.
Sudesh sustained serious injuries in the collision and was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
A case has been registered at Sampya police station.
